Selby Cycling Club Time Trials

The Selby Cycling Club Time Trial dates for the season ahead have been confirmed and will begin on Wednesday 3rd April 2024 (dates listed at the bottom of this page).

The time trial calendar offers cyclists an opportunity to test their skills over the season and to improve on their own personal time trial ability. Whilst it is great to compete against other cyclists this event is more than that, it’s about personal progression over the season.

Typically most people think that to take part in time trials you need a specialist bike and aerodynamic gear, all of which is extremely expensive. To take part in our time trials all you need is a bike and a will to improve your own time trial ability.  We run two categories of rider, Time Trial Bike and Road Bike at all our time trial events. 

Tim Wheeler (Selby Cycling)  said, “The time trial events give you a chance to push yourself, and to improve your time trial skills over the season. As a club we take joy in seeing people progress, improving their cycling skills.”

The league event for club members has a wide range of trophies, recognising both the most improved riders as well as the fastest overall across individual and multiple events.

Time trials are open to both members and non members. We welcome members of other clubs and would of course be very happy to welcome any non club affiliated riders to join our club.  

Each Time-trial costs £3 club members and £5 non members (includes £2 levy for CTT).  Results will be available on our public facebook page after each event.

Selby Cycling Club is a member of CTT (Cycling Time Trials) the UK body for time trials.

The courses are all approved by CTT and the police and are risk assessed prior to riding.

Simply turn up at Drax Social Club car park ⧉ 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, sign on, pay your entry fee and take on the time trial.
