Club Rides

Why take part in club rides?

FAQ's

Introduce yourself to the ride leader when you arrive at the Abbey and let them know your concerns.  The group will support you on the ride, you will quickly pick up key protocols.  Read our ride etiquette before attending the ride so you have an idea of what to expect.

We recommend all guest riders in the first instance ride our white rides.  This will allow you to understand our protocols and how our groups ride on the road.   Following this our ride leaders will be able to support you in ensuring you ride in the appropriate group for your ability.

Generally all our club ride routes are on quieter roads away from traffic as much as possible.

Routes are entered into the club calendar weeks or months ahead. Sometimes the weather forecast is unsuitable for the selected ride. Any decision to cancel a ride will be posted on both the public and private facebook pages.  If a change of route is needed this will be decided by the ride leader on the morning and shared when cyclists are assembled.

All Saturday / Sunday rides will generally make a planned café stop around half distance with toilet facilities.
